This game is like if SMO and SM3DW had a baby, and it is, just like those two games, absolutely amazing.
The camera is now usable in 360° just like in "Super Mario Odyssey", which, for this type of game, is greatly appreciated. It takes everything great about SM3DW and gives it all its own flavor. It's admittedly pretty short, as it took me only 5 hours to fully complete it, but do not get discouraged, as it is one of the best expansions I've ever played. Bowsers Fury: If that version of "Super Mario 3D World" wasn't enough, here is a new game entirely. Even with this fantastic game, that's not the only thing you get. It really ranks as one of the best traditional Mario games I've ever played, and I'm so happy that it gets a chance of being a monumental success on the Switch, for which, I think, it definitely deserves. It's big, adorable, charming, and most importantly, fun. Whether it be the gained ability to climb up every wall for a limited time, pounce and swiping at enemies, or just looking adorable, it is a power up that I hope becomes a main stay from here on out. This game not only embraces the household pet (so much, that some enemies and locales are based off of them, which, as a cat lover, I'm all for), but it also introduces one of the best Mario power ups in recent history that turns any player into a cat, and it is adorable and awesome. The theming of this game is excellent, as it, despite the worlds themselves being individually themed, the levels rarely are, so it does a great job in being unpredictable. Plessie is also awesome, as every level riding the adorable orange dinosaur is always a blast, and I hope to see her in more entries. This time, it's to save the new adorable colorful fairies called the "Sprixies", and the way they're incorporated into the game is genius, as their colors match each world you finish, and is these attentions to detail that make Nintendo one of, if not my favorite gaming company ever. Speaking of new characters, I love how this games introduces new characters to save instead of Peach. Same with Bowser, Boom Boom, and Pom Pom.
Whether it be a king and queen snake, a jester that gets big, a firey take on the Bully from SM64, and more, it's all great stuff, and fun to beat, despite their low difficulty. The boss battles are all awesome, as well, as, unlike with prior Mario games, there's a good amount of originality here. 3", Charging Chucks and Galoombas from "Super Mario World", or even the Bullies from "Super Mario 64", seeing these enemies in a whole new way in 3D (or in BETTER 3D in the Bullies case) is just a delight. Whether it be Boom Boom or Spikes from "Super Mario Bros.
I love the fact that there are returning enemies from previous Mario games, as well. The level design is consistently superb, as they're all beaming with creativity and fun gimmicks that keeps the player on their toes. 2/USA", which is awesome), and what you've got is someone for everybody. Mix that with the unique stats between Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad (all of which comes from "Super Mario Bros. The gameplay is pretty much perfect, as the speed has been increased, which makes the game much more fast paced and fun. It very well might be one of the best video game soundtracks of recent memory. The music is AMAZING, as it's catchy, fun, diverse, and filled with soul.

The visuals are very colorful, detailed, and full of life, which makes this one of the best looking Mario games out there. It's a fresh experience all together, while being the same great game from the doomed Wii U. That is because, unlike games like NSMBU Deluxe or even "Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze", this is more than just a Wii U port. After finally playing it, I can confidently say that the wait was more than worth it, as this is now one of my new favorite games on the Switch. That mixed with me loving "Super Mario 3D Land" on the 3DS made the near 4 year long wait for this to finally come all the more hard. Super Mario 3D World: As someone who missed out on the whole Wii U craze (mostly because there never really was one due to the console flopping harder than a fish out of water) and someone who has a Switch, waiting for this game to release was borderline torture, since it seemed that everything but this game was being ported over for a while.
